Shake, rotate, open, fold, spin, flex, extend your asana to class with the incredible Mary Geibel!  Join us at World Peace Yoga as we take a practical look at yoga anatomy on our mats to enlighten more body awareness and deeper connections within the practices of yoga.  Class will consist of a combination of lecture, discussion and asana focusing on a specific anatomy theme.  All are welcome – beginner yogi, advanced yogi, yoga teachers and those who just want to learn practical anatomy.

Upside-Down Arm Balances

Sturdy as a plank, focused as a crow, graceful like a feathered peacock, and wild as a downward facing tree. In this workshop we’ll explore arm balances and inversions, such as forearm stand and handstand, looking at these poses from different angles using alignment, props, assists, and spiritual metaphors. Julie Kirkpatrick is a long time artist and yogini that has immersed herself in the Jivamukti Yoga Method of teaching created by David Life and Sharon Gannon. Her classes are filled with intention, purpose, joy, humor, and fun.

Perceiving the Imperceptible: Subtle Anatomy (Koshas, Chakras, Nadis)

Our existence in the material world tends to train us to rely on our senses to get information, i.e. our eyes, nose, ears, tongue, and skin. But beyond these material sensors, lies a world of the unseen. The word subtle means “so delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe” and “delicately complex and understated.” The subtle body of energy is not easily perceivable. Yoga assists us to develop our ability to perceive, that is, to feel and know what is not perceivable with our eyes and thinking mind. We are able to learn how to see beyond seeing and hear beyond hearing. We will explore first the concepts of the subtle body and then we will do āsana and other practices that will assist us to be able to feel subtleties.

Meditation + Compassionate Tea Discussion hosted by Vegan Spirituality

Amber guides the meditation practice and Jen of Vegan Spirituality Cincinnati facilitates the “Compassionate Tea Discussion,” which includes tea and a topic connected to spirituality and compassion for all beings.

Reiki Share

This Reiki share or exchange is an opportunity for self-love, self-care, and self-service so that we as Reiki practitioners may be of better service to the world. Intro to Teaching Kids Yoga

This kids yoga weekend workshop is designed for parents, teachers, childcare workers, and yoga professionals looking for a fun and engaging way to introduce teaching yoga to children. Be ready to connect with your inner child and have some fun!!

Part I:  Saturday, December 2 ~ 1:00-4:00 pm with Lexi Sheets

Part I includes more of a focus on yoga postures. Explore various age-appropriate postures, breathing techniques, games, songs, and mindfulness/relaxation techniques. Learn how to structure children’s yoga asana (posture) classes that are safe and engaging.

Part II: Sunday, December 3 ~ 2:00-5:00 pm with Allyse Sonnega

Part II includes more of a focus on yoga philosophy.

Explore many aspects of yoga philosophy, nurturing children, and establishing the foundation for becoming happy, joyful, healthy, peaceful, and mindful adults. Philosophy, lifestyle, self-study, playful games, visualization, laughter, asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and using creativity through song, dance, art and more are incorporated into this experience.

Reiki I & II for Planetary and Personal Peace

Join us for this unique, energizing and healing Reiki Training for Planetary & Personal Peace. In this training, you will learn what Reiki is, the history and evolution of Reiki, what Reiki is able to do, how to use Reiki to help others and yourself, and how to give a full or a partial Reiki session. You will also learn Reiki self-healing, how to become a clean instrument for Reiki energy, how to become a healing facilitator, and the basics of subtle anatomy and the chakras.

Intro to Teaching Prenatal Yoga

Are you a Yoga teacher, Yoga teacher in training, midwife, doula, birth coach, pregnant or planning on getting pregnant? If so, then come spend the day, deepening your practice and expand your teaching knowledge exploring how yoga assists expectant moms and dads along their journey. Learn the fundamentals of a prenatal yoga class, creating a safe space for assisting mothers and fathers preparing for pregnancy, labor and beyond. Gain the knowledge to assist a mom with safely practicing prenatal yoga to physically prepare her for pregnancy and labor; empower mom and dad to tune in to her intuition; and cultivate trust to find inner strength. This training encourage students to realize and experience the amazing and beautiful gift of becoming a parent. We will continue the day exploring ways that yoga may assist mom and dad once the baby is born and all attention seems to shift to the baby.
